About Us
My name is Madeline and the last thing I thought I’d ever do was breed reptiles. It all started with a trip to a local pet store to find the perfect lizard for my son. The clerk handed me a crested gecko, and I was instantly hooked. I loved the way the gecko’s feet tickled my hand, and how it relaxed in my palm as I petted it.
We are small, home-based hobby breeders. Watching an egg as it grows and eventually hatches is fascinating. Each time a new crestie makes it into the world, it is like a tiny surprise, because you never know what you’ll get! All of our animals, from hatchlings to adults, are treated like members of the family. We acclimate the hatchlings to handling a little at a time, so they are less afraid of humans. Our geckos are currently displayed at a local elementary school. The kids love seeing the geckos, as well as keeping an eye on the developing eggs.
Our preferred method of payment is Paypal. We do not offer a shopping cart at Moonrise because we prefer to make a personal connection with every buyer. We also offer holds for our buyers. See our terms and health guarantee below.

Live Arrival Guarantee and Health Guarantee
All of my animals are cared for by me and are guaranteed to be in perfect health when they leave my home. Live arrival is guaranteed when all of these conditions are met:
1. When temperatures are between 40° and 80° on both ends of the delivery 2. When the correct address is given by the buyer 3. When someone is available to sign for the package upon delivery
It is the buyer’s responsibility to make sure someone is present to sign for the package at the agreed upon time and date.
If there is a problem upon delivery
In case of a DOA, it is the buyer’s responsibility to notify Moonrise Geckos within 2 hours of delivery. If I do not hear from you within 2 hours, I will assume that the animal arrived alive. In the event that an animal arrives DOA, photographic proof or return of the expired animal (at buyer’s expense) is required. Credit or animal replacement will be issued for expired animals.
One Week Health Guarantee
All of my geckos are fed Repashy’s Crested Gecko Diet, and I recommend that buyers feed the same. Credit or animal replacement will be issued for expired animals, providing the buyer sends photographic proof or a letter from a licensed veterinarian detailing the illness and/or explaining the cause of death.

Moonrise Geckos Hold Animal Contract
Geckos may be held for the buyer for weather related or other reasons. This is for the convenience of the buyer. Terms as stated:
Deposits are non-refundable. At the election of the seller, full or partial refunds may be issued if the buyer backs out and certain terms are met:
· If the gecko is sold to another buyer for the original price · If the gecko has a change in health (such as losing its tail)
Unless stated otherwise, geckos are sold as unsexed. Appearance of sex characteristics during the hold period will not alter the original price of the gecko.
Color is not guaranteed to stay the same during the duration of the hold. Crested geckos are known for their drastic color changes from hatchling to adulthood, and cannot be predicted. Be sure that you keep this in mind when choosing a gecko.
The seller agrees to care for the animal and keep it healthy while on hold.
The seller will ship the gecko as soon as full payment is received and/or when the temperature is safe for shipping. For weather related holds, shipping will occur when the temperature on both ends of the transaction is between 40-80 degrees. Every effort will be made to ship the geckos as soon as allowable, on a date agreed upon by the buyer and seller. Deposit will be forfeited if the buyer does not pay in a timely manner. |
